Francisco Miguel Lindor Serrano (born November 14, 1993, in Caguas, Puerto Rico), affectionately known as "Mr. Smile," is a professional baseball shortstop for the New York Mets. He was selected eighth overall by the Cleveland Indians in the 2011 MLB Draft and made his Major League debut on June 14, 2015. Renowned for his exceptional defense and switch-hitting prowess, Lindor earned four All-Star selections and two Gold Glove Awards during his tenure with Cleveland. In January 2021, he was traded to the Mets and subsequently signed a 10-year, $341 million contract extension.
